Prof. James Hui is the Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at both the National University Hospital (NUH) and Alexandra Hospital. He also serves as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Ling Chaw Ming Professor in Orthopaedics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). A fellowship-trained paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, Prof. Hui specializes in managing musculoskeletal conditions in children, including hip dysplasia, spinal deformities, limb length discrepancies, and neuromuscular disorders such as Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida.

Prof. Hui obtained his MBBS from NUS and completed advanced orthopaedic training at NUH before pursuing a paediatric orthopaedic fellowship in Australia. His research focuses on bone age, growth in children, gait analysis in Cerebral Palsy, and stem cell applications for cartilage repair. A dedicated educator and researcher, he is actively involved in teaching and is a member of esteemed organizations like the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.
