Dr. Henry Cheng is an accomplished obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience, currently practising at Astra Women’s Specialists in Novena and Bishan. He completed his medical degree at the University of Malaya in 1982 and received specialist training in Singapore, followed by postgraduate studies in the UK. His training in Fetal Medicine under Professor Kypros Nicolaides at the Harris Birthright Research Centre in London led to the development of the OSCAR test for first-trimester Down’s syndrome screening.

Before starting his private practice, Dr. Cheng was a senior consultant and head of the Fetal Medicine Division at Singapore General Hospital. He has a special interest in prenatal diagnostics, ultrasound scanning, and comprehensive obstetric care. Additionally, Dr. Cheng is involved in medical technology, serving as an advisor for companies developing innovative equipment for monitoring adult and baby health. He is accredited to perform surgeries at Thomson Medical Centre, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, and Mount Alvernia Hospital.
